Our mission is not only to reflect on the past but also to ignite curiosity and appreciation among present and future generations. Through various initiatives, RHS aims to ensure that Rabaul remains a meaningful destination on Papua New Guinea\u2019s cultural and historical map.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Guardians of Local Heritage: The Museum at the New Guinea Club<\/strong>.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At the heart of RHS\u2019s operations is the <strong>maintenance of a small but significant museum<\/strong> housed within the <strong>New Guinea Club premises<\/strong>. This museum is a living archive, preserving rare artefacts, photographs, documents, and personal stories that paint a vivid picture of Rabaul\u2019s past \u2014 from colonial encounters and wartime events to volcanic disruptions and cultural transformations. It serves as an important educational resource for locals and visitors alike, offering a window into the town\u2019s dynamic and often tumultuous history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Commemorating and Celebrating Milestones<\/strong>.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Society plays a key role in the <strong>commemoration of historically significant events<\/strong> that resonate deeply with the people of Rabaul and beyond.
